The Baillargeon Monument is a hand carved, Cararra white marble angel statue custom made in Italy. The full-round statue is on a mahogany granite pedestal base. The lettering is lost-wax cast bronze.

The weeping angel statue is carved with similarities of the carving William Wetmore Story made for his wife’s memorial monument – Angel of Grief.  Mr. and Mrs. Baillargeon visited the Protestant Cemetery, in Rome, and were struck by the beauty of the original memorial.  Modifications were made, by request of the family, for the angel to hold three roses.
